The Real Estate Market in Dublin and San Ramon certainly enjoyed an active 2012. The entire 680 Corridor Real Estate Market seemed to come alive at the end of the first quarter. Those of us on the front lines experienced the changes in advance of what would be more positive reporting on the state of the local housing markets as the year went on. The performance of Dublin and San Ramon will be the first two markets I focus on followed by: Danville, Blackhawk, Diablo, Alamo and Walnut Creek. Single Family home sales … [Read more...]
Tri-Valley Mortgage & Market Update for January 4th
Economic News...As we rang in the New Year all eyes were on the Congress & President to avert the so-called “Fiscal Cliff”. A deal was struck but look out for more volatility as the United States has reached the debt ceiling and what looks to be a contentious battle lies ahead in the next few months. Good news for those who are having to go the short sale route. Mortgage Debt Tax Relief was extended for another year. California’s Homeowner Bill of Rights, which was signed last year by Governor Jerry Brown, has … [Read more...]
Bay Area Mortgage & Market Update for December 21st
Mortgage and Market Update Economic News: 2012 is rolling to an end and the news for this week was not “Naughty” but “Nice”. The Housing Market Index reported its 8th straight monthly gain and builders reported the best conditions in five years. Housing Starts were revised lower for the previous two months but that news certainly seems to be offset by the sentiment of home builders. Existing Home Sales were up 5.9% with supply dwindling again. Third Quarter Gross Domestic Product was revised upward to an annualized … [Read more...]

Blackhawk Country Club Summer 2012 Real Estate Report
Summer feels long since past with the weather we have had lately but it was really not that long ago. Fall began a little more than a month ago so I decided to take a look at the Blackhawk Country Club real estate market this summer versus last. Interestingly, home sales were down over 2011 which really does not jive with the rest of the market. While inventory of homes for sale remains a problem in the area I am not going to worry too much since this is just a four month snapshot. The jump in the median home price … [Read more...]
Summer’s Gone…How Did The Danville Real Estate Market Perform?
I am definitely feeling the chill in the air lately but the Danville real estate market remains warm to hot. Let's take a look at how Danville Real Estate did this Summer versus last. The numbers across the board were positive. Single Family Home sales fared very well with a double digit increase in units sold and a nice rise in the median home price. The time it took to get a house into escrow remained steady. Attached Homes also boasted increases in units sold and price but the more dramatic number is in the … [Read more...]

The chart below addresses how the Dublin real estate market did in the summer of 2012 versus 2011. One can see that the Single Family Home market posted a nice increase in the number of homes sold, a slight rise in median values and a pretty dramatic drop in the number of days it took to get a home into escrow. That was also the case for the … [Read more...]
